Campsite view - The campsite at Alderton was near Winchcombe, on the west slopes of the Cotswolds On the first of Ann's '4 mile strolls', about a mile from base camp; not needing oxygen yet! A quicker way to travel - the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway (GWR!) No good walk is complete without meeting friends for lunch! It was a long table. ...but only some people had room for pudding! The campsite duck family, often seen wandering between the tents, but numbers sadly reduced each day. Barbecues are wonderful ways to indulge our carnivorous instincts and they say there's no smoke without fire - usually... Some of us walked to church, a mile across the fields Right on cue, a couple of photogenic lambs The chancel of St Margaret of Antioch, Alderton, a lovely friendly place where they serve coffee after mass - in the pews! An outside view - such a contrast to the cityscape outside St John's Sunday afternoon walk - another '4 mile walk'. at this point we couldn't see the wood for the trees! No woodland walk is complete without a photo of bluebells. After 5 miles, they let us have a rest After a wet night, the sun came out so we could take down dry tents In Stow St George - where do the trees end and the church begin?
